Cell Phone Systems | Dan Allen Leaves WDJO-AM
January 26, 2012 – 12:32 pmLongtime oldies DJ programmer Dan Allen sealed off at the finish of his 3-7 p.m. change Sunday on WDJO-AM (1480).
“I only need more time. I’m as active as ever,” says Allen, operations executive for Clear Channel Format Labs here in Cincinnati. He programs Real Oldies for Clear Channel’s iheartradio.com and other formats for HD radio, Internet and unit phone systems.
Real Oldies on Iheartradio.com “has completed really well. It’s moreover featured around Clear Channel on a few of our HD2 air wave stations. Monday it launched in Binghamton, NY, on 680 WINR-AM so right away I’m hosting 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday by Friday on the Real Oldies Channel.
“There only aren’t sufficient hours in the day to go on at WDJO-AM . we told (WDJO) I’d be existing for fill-in, primarily for my aged change on the Saturday Night Dial-A-Hit. That’s only fun.”
Allen, who grew up listening toDusty Rhodes, Ron Britain, Dave Reinhart and the oldWSAI-AM “Good Guys” in the 1960s,was song director for Randy Michaels at WKRC-AM in the 1970s, working withJack Stahl, Ted McAllister and Rhodes is to initial time. When Michaels took over WLW-AM in1983, Allen went along asassistant module director and DJ for “Diall-A-Hit” on Saturday nights. Later he did”Dial-A-Hit” onWGRR-FM….. and in 2002 helaunched the”Real Oldies” format on 1530withRhodes,Stahl andMcAllister. He stayed at Clear Channel after1530 altered formats in 2005.
